Signing & documents
Do signers need an account to sign a document?
No — signers don't need a Signit account. They simply open the secure link you send them.
- They click the link and review the document.
- They complete the fields assigned to them.
- They submit — and the action is recorded in the document's audit trail.
Signers can sign on any device: desktop, tablet, or smartphone.
What file types can I upload?
Signit supports the most common document formats:
- Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx)
- Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx)
- Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx)
Format and finalize your file before uploading — it's converted to PDF for signing.
Users & account
How do I add a new user to my organization?
If you're an admin or the account owner:
- Go to Settings → Organization settings → Users.
- Click Invite and enter the person's name, email, and role.
- Assign a role (for example, admin or member) and send the invitation.
They'll receive an email to activate their account. For the full walkthrough, see Invite your team.
Can I transfer account ownership to someone else?
Ownership can't be handed to another existing user — each account is tied to one person and their documents, so a transfer would create ownership conflicts.
Instead, point the account at a shared email address:
- Go to Settings → My account → Profile.
- Click Change next to the email field.
- Enter a shared address (for example, admin@yourdomain.com) and click Save.
The new owner signs in with those credentials, and all existing documents stay exactly where they are.
Credits & billing
How many credits does each add-on cost?
Add-ons are charged in credits (1 credit = 0.10 SAR). Here's what each one costs:
| Add-on | Credits (SAR) |
|---|---|
| SMS / WhatsApp verification or notification | 2 (0.20) |
| Absher & Nafath — standard | 30 (3.00) |
| Nafath only, with National ID & biometrics | 40 (4.00) |
| Nafath & digital certificate — without biometrics | 90 (9.00) |
| Nafath & digital certificate — with biometrics | 100 (10.00) |
| Wathq — commercial registration not found | 3 (0.30) |
| Wathq — commercial registration found | 30 (3.00) |

How do I top up my credits?
Two ways to recharge:
From your account
- Go to Settings → Plan and billing.
- Scroll down and click Recharge.
- In the “Recharge your credit balance” popup, pick a package and adjust the quantity.
- Review the payment details and click Recharge now, then pay with Mada, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.
Your credits are added immediately.
Through your account manager — prefer another payment method? Your dedicated account manager can recharge on your behalf.
Signed documents & access
How do I download a copy of my signed document?
Once a document is complete:
- Open the Documents section.
- Find the document marked Completed and open its details page.
- Click Download — choose the document on its own, or with the audit trail attached.
Keep a copy for compliance or future reference.
What is a document audit trail?
The audit trail is a complete log of everything that happens to a document across its lifecycle. It records:
- When the document was created and sent.
- Every participant action — signing, approving, and more.
- An exact timestamp for each action.
It gives you transparency and serves as proof of authenticity and compliance. Open a document's details page and choose View audit trail.
How long do secure links stay active?
It depends on whether the link carries an extra verification step:
- Links without verification (no SMS, Absher, or Nafath step) expire after 10 days of inactivity. If you open an expired one, Signit automatically issues a fresh secure link and notifies you by email, SMS, or WhatsApp.
- Verification links (with an added authentication method) don't expire on inactivity — they stay valid until the document itself expires or is canceled.
Why can't I open my signed contract after a while?
For security and compliance, signed documents are available to download for a limited time — so an older access link may have expired.
- Best practice: download your copy as soon as you finish signing. The confirmation email includes a download link — save the file to your device right away.
- If the link has already expired: contact the sender (the person or organization that sent it to you). They can retrieve the signed document from their Signit account and share it with you again.
